The odds of pulling highly-desired rarities are predictable across sets like Surging Sparks and Temporal Forces : A collector opening a standard 36-pack booster box can therefore expect multiple Ultra Rare cards, but the odds of hitting a rare Special Illustration Rare (SAR) , the most valuable "chase cards," are approximately one in every two to three booster boxes (36 packs / 86 packs per SAR ≈ 41% chance per box)

Thicker card sleeves are nice but getting the cards back in the box and handling hugely overstacked decks is a big issue on games over 100 cards
